When G-Star was founded in 1989, its first goal was to position denim and denim-related products at a luxury level. As the founders of ‘luxury’ denim, G-Star launched its first mono brand store in Paris in 1996. There, unwashed raw denim was offered as a retail product for the first time – a revolution in the denim market back then. This store was called ‘RAW Essentials’. Today, G-Star reclaims its territory of high end denim specialist with RAW Essentials. This special program has been created using ‘no compromise’ denim, trimmings, washings and craftsmanship that will appeal to the true denim lover. The styling avoids the trap of “boring authentic replicas” by mixing authentic and vintage influences with modern culture’s big city street style. Selvedge denim from the best mills are individually hand-finished and feature tapered fits with an instantly recognizable silhouette, unique to G-Star. Complementing this denim base is a selection of jerseys, shirts, knits and jackets with the same spirit.
