GANT Rugger Fall/Winter 2010
For the fall 2010 season GANT’s Rugger collection has been allowed to evolve into a full range of well detailed pieces inspired by vintage American sportswear. The design team has been off on a road trip for inspiration – far into the wild, well away from the city. For the two themes, Deer Hunter and The Preppiest Catch the inspiration is drawn from the old fashioned hunter and the hardy fisherman exploring the Great American Outdoors.
A tribute to the functional sportswear style of the mid 60’s the Deer Hunter range is full of great outdoorsy future wardrobe favorites. Battered, washed out materials come in shades of brown, beige and blue with accents in rust and orange. Accessories with an updated retro feel such as the rugged backpack, soft snood scarf, knitted balaclava and nylon snow guards will keep you stylishly warm.
The rugged and beautiful off season landscape of coastal Rock Harbor is the set for The Preppiest Catch theme, referring to the legendary Discovery TV show “The Deadliest Catch”. The style is a rougher take on nautical preppy, inspired by tough northern fishermen and the gear that protects them from stormy weather. Knit wool sweaters in bouclé patterns and Breton stripes paired with washed out chinos make for the perfect everyday match while well-tailored blazers add a ‘70’-s dandy touch to the look.
