Stevenson Overall Co. – J.F.DIGGS-887 (LIMITED EDITION DENIM)

May 16, 2010

Inspired by jeans from the 1880’s and made with sewing machine from the 1920’s in Okayama, Japan, the J.F.DIGGS-887 (LIMITED EDITION) is the work of Stevenson Overall Co. (SOC).

SOC was launched in 2005 by Atsu Tagaya and Zip Stevenson (from HTC) after the latter found a namesake company had existed in Indiana before the Great Depression, and, being a self-proclaimed denim freak, decided to revive it.

The basic concept of the Stevenson Overall Co. is to make high quality clothing for the ‘workers’ of today (creative/curious and unconventional types): “To make our collections, we start from examining early functional clothing (workwear, military, outdoor) from the 1800’s to the 1960’s and then take the best ideas in them and mix them with our own to make garments that can be worn today with a nod to yesterday. We get to make them from the best materials available in collaboration with the best people in the business”.
